Staff rose to the challenge of eating cake for charity whilst managing to raise a massive amount for North West Cancer Research.
Catherine Moore, who has stage 4 cancer, organised a cake sale to raise funds for the charity whilst highlighting her Great Wall of China walk in September.
She raised more than £1,400 through selling cakes and a raffle. Prizes on offer included an overnight stay at the Radisson, a meal for two at the Side Door and a Liverpool Football Club Stadium Tour and the lucky winners included Jo Woods from Student Recruitment and Admissions Office and Amy Tomlinson from Human Resources.
She said: “I am very grateful and the support that was given on the day was totally overwhelming. I feel honoured to work with such a great bunch of people who made the day a fun and financial success. However I never want to see another cake as long as I live!”
Well done Catherine. Wishing you all the very best as you look forward to walking the Great Wall. After having a very short walk along the wall myself, I can tell you that it will be the experience of a lifetime.
Such a fabulous event, I will even forgive the photograph of me (I shy from photo’s at every opportunity!)
I’ve never seen so many beaming faces in one room before! I’ve also never seen so many cakes in one room before either! A brilliant and successful day all round.
