The President of Nigeria hosted a group of 40 students at his Aso Rock Presidential Villa to congratulate them on their scholarships to pursue a degree at the University of Liverpool.
The students were selected under a scholarship scheme initiated by President Goodluck Jonathan for students impacted by unrest in communities of Bayelsa state.
The President selected a total of 102 best performing students from local community primary schools and awarded them secondary Education Scholarships in the best secondary Schools across the Federation.
The Breakfast dinner was a special event to congratulate the students who have successfully completed their Senior Secondary Education, and to wish them well on their departure to Liverpool.
The students, supported by the Nigerian Presidential Amnesty Office, are now enrolled at Liverpool International College where they will study towards entry on University courses in September.
