Academics and staff from Professional Services have taken part in the latest ASPIRE leadership development programme developed by Human Resources.
The aim is to develop aspiring leaders with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by the by the University in order to meet key organisational objectives and challenges.
The programme has been designed to develop all categories of staff who aspire to take on institutional leadership roles and are supported by their line managers as having the potential and desire to contribute to the University as leaders in the future.
Patrick Hackett, Chief Operating Officer, said: “This is an opportunity for staff to learn about leadership in an experiential way through applying the underpinning leadership theory into practice through institutional projects. They have gained valuable insight into the challenges of the complexities of working with so many people who all want to make sure that we as an institution get things right.”
The programme is endorsed by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) at Level 5 and includes a membership to the ILM.
