An undergraduate student at the University of Liverpool has been celebrated as one of the UKs most talented future managers after being named as a finalist in a national competition.

Stephanie Peters, who is studying for a BA in Marketing at the University, was revealed as a top 10 finalist in Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s Management Undergraduate of the Year category at the TARGETjobs Undergraduate Awards.

The TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards, in association with graduate recruitment specialist SHL, are conducted every year to try and seek out the UK’s best undergraduates across some 12 categories including law, engineering and computer science.

The management category finalists were chosen out of hundreds of hopefuls following a lengthy application process which involved psychometric tests, essay-based questions on leadership and management, virtual business meetings, interviews and an assessment centre.

Stephanie Peters said: “The whole process has been a fantastic experience. I’m delighted to have been named as a finalist in such a prominent national competition and there’s no doubt that I’m taking a lot away with me in terms of experience and confidence.”

Ashley Hever, European Talent Acquisition Manager at Enterprise, said: “Stephanie is a great ambassador for Liverpool. There’s no doubt that she has the skills to succeed, and her leadership and management ability will be invaluable in her future career.”

Chris Phillips, Information and Research Director at TARETjobs said: “These Awards have been running for four years now and they get more competitive each year. Across the 12 Awards, we had nearly 4,500 entries from over 130 different universities, so Stephanie did really well to make it to the final ten.”

The overall winner of the category was announced on Friday as management undergraduate student George Fisher-Wilson.
