open day in uni square

The University of Liverpool is holding its Open Days on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 June, giving prospective students the opportunity to find out more about the benefits of studying at Liverpool.

More than 14,000 visitors are expected to attend over the two days – an 8.5% increase compared to last year.

Visitors arriving on campus this weekend will be able to see some of the most advanced new laboratories, teaching space, and accommodation in the UK. Overall the University is investing in £600m in developing the academic, social and residential facilities over a 10 year period.

The University has been working closely with partners in the city to encourage visitors to stay overnight so they can experience Liverpool’s nightlife, culture and arts – whilst helping to boost the local economy. In total, students contribute more than £300m to the local economy each year.

Claire Brown, Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions, said: “We know from research with students that the city is central to our brand, and is one of the many attractions of studying here. Students who choose to study at the University of Liverpool will gain a degree from a leading Russell Group university that offers a first class students experience at one the greatest cities in the UK.

”We’re confident that prospective students and their parents visiting this weekend will receive a warm welcome.”

“Liverpool is renowned worldwide for the friendliness of its people – and we’re confident that prospective students and their parents visiting this weekend will receive a warm welcome and experience the vibrancy of the city for themselves.”

Vine Court, the University’s £44m flagship eco-residences, is offering overnight accommodation at £65 per night for prospective students and their parents, giving them the opportunity to sample life in halls. A number of hotels in the city are also offering discounted rates for visitors.
