Approximately 16,000 people attended the University of Liverpool Open Day, an increase of more than 2,000 on last year, to learn about what life is like on campus and the degree courses on offer.
Students and their families enjoyed a food and drink fair on University Square, with special University of Liverpool cakes, and entertainment from student dance societies.
Applications from Home and EU students have increased by 9.14% from 2012, and six new programmes have been introduced for 2013, including criminology, actuarial mathematics and marine biology with oceanography.
More than 50 student ambassadors where on hand to show students around the campus and halls of residence.
Current students in the School of Architecture showcased their projects, which included research, models, drawings, and art installations.
Architecture Master’s students talked to visitors about their designs including environmental projects that imagined what accommodation would be like if man could live on the moon.
Prospective students could also learn about opportunities to study abroad whilst they complete their degree programme, such as placements in the US, China, and Australia.
