HEFCE calculates projected qualification rates over a seven and twenty five year period, on the basis that seven years is the first point by which the majority of students who will complete are expected to have done so, and 25 years is the cut off point at which any student who will ever complete will have done so. The analysis uses a number of measures including subject of study, students domicile, qualification on entry, and the source of funding.
