Two University of Liverpool School of Engineering students have benefitted from a £1,250 prize from a local IT firm in recognition of their personal development.
The Stack Award for Personal Development was given to Adeayo Sotayo, 20, and Oluyemi Jegede, 21, who were selected for showing the most academic improvement throughout the year.

Sponsored by Aintree-based Stack IT Solutions, the award was set up in recognition of the enjoyable time that Stack CEO, Jeff Orr, spent at University of Liverpool as a student himself.
Tutors and project supervisors were involved in the nomination process of BEng third year mechanical engineering students, who they believed not only improved their academic standards but also contributed to teamwork, student and staff liaison and life at the school. The students were also judged on how well they got involved in extracurricular activities and professional bodies such as the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Adeayo Sotayo said: “The Stack award is a great way to recognise achievements and personal development. It encapsulates the sort of qualities that employers are looking for and will be a great asset to my CV. Winning this is a great honour and the reward will be used to further enhance these developments.”
Oluyemi Jegede added: “I believe personal development is a major hallmark of all-round education. Therefore, it’s a joy that my efforts to develop myself outside the very rigid academic curriculum are being rewarded. I do hope this award inspires students in the years to come’.
CEO of Stack Data Solutions, Jeff Orr, whose family has a long association with University of Liverpool said: “Adeayo and Oluyemi are two very deserving young men who are a credit to the University of Liverpool, not only academically but also socially.
“I have fantastic memories of my student days at the University and thought it would be fitting to recognise these with an annual development prize for the most academic improvement. It was difficult for the panel to choose two people for this prize as standards were very high, but I feel we selected the right students and I hope they will go on to experience future success and happiness.”
