Ness Gardens will again host BBC Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time `Summer Garden Party’ this September following the success of last year’s event.

The popular horticultural show’s panel of well-known gardening experts will be at the event including Bob Flowerdew, Eric Robson, Matthew Biggs, Christine Walkden, Peter Gibbs, Matthew Wilson, Bunny Guinness and Pippa Greenwood plus new faces James Wong and Carol Baxter.

Ness Gardens’ own expert gardeners will also be on hand during the day to provide demonstrations and give personal advice on plants and gardening dilemmas.

”We would really like to beat the record attendance of 2,000 guests which was Radio 4’s biggest outdoor audience event last year”

This year’s event also has lots to offer the food lover with cookery demonstrations from Claire Lara, Masterchef winner 2010; Anju Chandna, North Indian culinary specialist; Yasmin Limbert, quarter finalist in the BBC Great British Bake Off and Malcolm Williams, local artisan baker.  All will be using produce grown by Ness this year.

Kevin Reid, Director at Ness Gardens, said: “We would really like to beat the record attendance of 2,000 guests which was Radio 4’s biggest outdoor audience event last year.  We are planning more demonstrations, activities and stands than before and if early ticket sales are anything to go by, it promises to be a huge success once more.”

There will be two recordings of the programme which will be broadcast later in September.

Tickets are priced at £8.50 each (no concessions) and are available now via the Ness Botanic Gardens website (www.nessgardens.org.uk).  Tickets are limited so book now to avoid disappointment.

Gardeners Question Time will take place on Saturday, 7 September, from 10am to 6pm.
