Open Day!

VicBuild5w

There’s a packed schedule of tours, talks and activities on offer at the University of Liverpool’s Open Day, covering everything from archaeology to ocean sciences, and business to medicine.

Welcome Presentations, running from 9am to 2.30pm, are a good place to start and deliver an overview of everything University of Liverpool, from academic achievements to our extensive support facilities.

After taking in a Welcome Presentation, pick up one of the tours operating throughout the day.

Campus Tours

Campus Tours leave at regular intervals from Guild Walk, outside the recently refurbished Sports and Fitness Centre, while 15 minute tours of the library facilities run from 10am to 2pm, from outside the Harold Cohen and Sydney Jones.

Coaches leave from Oxford Street every ten minutes for the short trip to our off-campus halls and coach tours of Liverpool City Centre run every 20 minutes from outside the Hart Building, on Mount Pleasant. Tickets are not required for these but must be acquired to tour our on-campus halls. You can pick yours up at the Accommodation stand at the Central Exhibition, held in the Sports and Fitness Centre.

You could check out some of the live marine biology and ecology experiments on the ground floor of our award-winning Central Teaching Labs, or take a look round and handle some of the objects in our Garstang Museum of Archaeology
That space is packed with stands full of information, from the likes of our Careers and Employability Service, The Guild of Students and our Study Abroad service, among many more.

From there, a plethora of subject and department specific talks, question and answer sessions, sample lectures and activities, operated by current students and staff, run throughout the day.

You could check out some of the live marine biology and ecology experiments, taking place between 12pm and 3pm, on the ground floor of our award-winning Central Teaching Labs (CTL), or take a look round and handle some of the objects in our Garstang Museum of Archaeology.

You can learn more about cave-painting and flint-knapping, while Earth Sciences and Physics staff and students will talk you through a tour of the night sky in our amazing Planetarium, all in the CTL Atrium.

There are also plenty of places to eat, stop for a coffee or meet friends across campus.
