A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the University of Liverpool and Sweden’s Uppsala University was signed, and promises to deliver research, teaching and learning opportunities for both institutions.
Founded in 1477, Uppsala is the country’s oldest university and with Lund, forms Sweden’s version of “Oxbridge”. The signing of the MOU comes following a number of visits between key members of both organisations.
A delegation from Uppsala visited Liverpool earlier this month, meeting academic staff from life sciences and environmental sciences, as well as humanities and social sciences.
Collaborations across teaching and research along with opportunities in China (especially XJTLU) and in London, shared expertise in online provision, collaboration in staff development and potential benchmarking and collaboration in professional services will be explored and developed where appropriate.
