The University’s Radiation Protection Adviser has been appointed an Honorary Visiting Professor in the School of Physical Sciences.
Professor Pete Cole has been at the University since 2000 and his role also includes him advising on Radioactive Waste and Laser Protection.
Radiation protection
Last year, he was made President-Elect of the Society for Radiological Protection (SRP), the largest radiation protection professional society outside the US, elected by peers across the field of radiation protection.
He has recently established the UK Young Professionals Award to encourage radiation protection professionals in the first ten years of their careers, and he is the Chair of the SRP’s Schools Outreach Working Group.
