Teams combine to support research performance and enhance customer service

The University is to create a directorate of Research, Partnerships and Innovation this Spring drawing together a number of functions from across the Professional Services.

Following the recent submission of our REF return, this change will reflect the critical importance of research performance as part of the University’s strategic priorities.

The RPI directorate will broadly encompass functions currently in Research Policy, Research Support, and Partnerships and Innovation, including the Business Gateway and the International Development Office.

Facilities and Residences

In addition, around 1,000 colleagues working in our Facilities Management and Residential, Sport and Leisure Services, will come together in a new directorate of Facilities and Residential Services.

Combining these two large teams will enable the University to continue to strengthen its customer service ethos and enhance the student experience.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Patrick Hackett, said: “I appreciate that change can be unsettling but hope that staff will see the creation of these two teams as an opportunity through integration to enhance support to our staff, students and other stakeholders”.
