Fee reduction launched for students who progress to postgraduate

Undergraduates in their final year can take advantage of a 20% fee discount on postgraduate programmes.

The Postgraduate Open Day will give students the opportunity to explore the Postgraduate Progression Award, which gives all University of Liverpool undergraduate students and alumni considering a full or part-time postgraduate taught course the chance to reduce their tuition fees by 20%.

The offer includes MRes qualifications and postgraduate study can be undertaken at both the Liverpool campus and the University’s new London campus in 2014. Students who take up the offer will benefit from a dedicated ‘fast-track’ application process.

The discount is aimed at current undergraduates and alumni, but people who have previously studied elsewhere and are now interested in postgraduate study at the University are also welcome to attend.

The Student Recruitment and Admissions Office (SRAO) will be running a series of marketing activities across the University between now and September in addition to the Open Day, including online events, targeted emails and the dissemination of marketing collateral around campus. Advertising will also take place on digital screen posters in the main city centre railway stations across Liverpool.

One of the main identified barriers to postgraduate study is finance so to minimise the impact of this, the University has kept postgraduate tuition fees at a competitive low and introduced the Postgraduate Progression Award to incentivise students and alumni to continue their studies.

Claire Brown, Director SRAO, said “We are urging colleagues to encourage their students to attend the event and visit the website for more information about the Postgraduate Progression Award. I would like to thank everyone for their continued support with student recruitment and really do hope they will support this campaign.”

The Postgraduate Open Day will take place on Wednesday, 12 March from 3-6pm. For information about the Open Day please contact James Briginshaw, Events Co-ordinator in SRAO.
