Staff can benefit from a number of special initiatives this month to help mark the tenth birthday celebrations at Liverpool University Press (LUP).
LUP is the third-oldest university press in the UK, now in its 115th year, and also one of the youngest, celebrating ten years since its restructuring and relaunch as a subsidiary company of the University of Liverpool in April 2004.
All LUP journals content will be available for free for the entire month, including more than one hundred years’ worth of articles for our oldest journals.
A ‘ten for £10’ showcase will highlight ten milestone books for the Press since the relaunch, all of which will be available from the LUP website for just £10 throughout April. The ten titles selected represent outstanding, path-breaking and award-winning scholarship as selected by the Press’s editors.
Also, throughout the month they will be tweeting some of the warm endorsements received for the successful re-imagining of Liverpool University Press, from Mary Beard to China Miéville, Jonathan Bate to Lord David Owen.
Anthony Cond, Director, said: “LUP has become a regular on publishing industry shortlists in recent years, its books and journals have been widely acclaimed and the skill and experience of the LUP staff has been rightly acknowledged.
Above all, the Press has been fortunate to work with some exceptional book authors and journal contributors, working in harmony with outstanding series and journal editors and a rigorous central Editorial Advisory Board. A tenth/115th birthday seems a good time to thank them all.”
