More than 70 alumni and guests have attended the Royal Liverpool Golf Club (RLGC) to take part in the seventh Alumni Golf Day.
The event took place on the 50th anniversary of the University of Liverpool Golf Club’s permanent move to Royal Liverpool and attracted alumni who attended the University from as far back as the mid-1950s.
The University Golf Club has played at RLGC since early 1964 and this year’s event celebrated 50 years of the student club receiving five day memberships at this iconic venue.
Dinner in the evening was followed by a number of speeches including Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Patrick Hackett, who gave a history of golf at the University and in particular the successes of the club whilst residing at Hoylake.

4. 4th individual scratch score – Tom Woodhouse 75 (37)
5. 5th individual scratch score – Steve Kelbrick 77
6. Best individual stableford score – Paul Chivers 35
7. 2nd individual stableford score – Stuart Hilbert 33 (13) (8)
8. 3rd individual stableford score – Ronan McGrath 33 (13) (6)
9. Best (scratch) team score – Mid 1980s scored 139
10. Second scratch team score – Royal Liverpool Golf Club scored 141
11. Best (stableford) team score – The Old Boys scored 78
