Departments invited to bid for Benefactors' Fund

The Benefactors’ Fund is inviting applications from staff across the University for funding for projects that will enhance the student experience.

The disbursement of funds for 2014 is now open, with grants of £5,000 and above available for one-off projects that will enhance the student experience.

Previous grants awarded from the Benefactors’ Fund have included £26,000 for portable ultrasound equipment in the Human Anatomy Resource Centre, £30,000 for a virtual engine test bench in the School of Engineering.

The initial submission deadline for bids is of 23 June 2014 and applicants should submit their applications to their relevant Executive Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Faculty Director of Operations or Head of Department.

The Benefactors’ Fund is a fundraising initiative run by the Philanthropy and Alumni Relations Team, through a series of postal and telephone campaigns throughout the year, where alumni are invited to support the University, with a view to enhancing the student experience.

Successful applicants will be notified by 25 July 2014 and the winning bids will be awarded on 1 August 2014.

Please note that funding for individual students or posts will not be considered.
