Staff guidance session on sustainable development in higher education

Staff are invited to a workshop on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) guidance, as recently published in collaboration with Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) and the Higher Education Academy (HEA).

ESD aims to help higher education institutions to develop graduates who have the skills, knowledge and experience to contribute to an environmentally and ethically responsible society.

Sustainability

This guidance complements the UK Quality Code for HE which recognises that education for sustainability is a theme that cuts across academic disciplines and has been prepared by representatives of the higher education community with expertise in education and sustainable development.

This session will highlight the main points in the document and how these relate to the student experience at the University of Liverpool.

In addition there will be an opportunity to learn what the students views on this are and to share staff views with colleagues from across the University.

Presenters will include Clare Casey (Sustainability Team), Dave Wheatley (LGoS) and Nick Bunyan (CLL)

The lunchtime session takes place on Thursday 3 July in Room 115, 126 Mount Pleasant at 12.15-13.45pm and is open to staff from all disciplines.
