The newly refurbished Guild of Students opens in September following a major, multimillion pound investment. The frontage to University Walk has been updated with the addition of wooden panelling, new walkways and seating areas
A new more intimate Courtyard area has been created with a lowered roof above public seating space. A new bar and kitchen are in place and light streams in through the raised glass ceiling, allowing views out over Liverpool’s Metropolitan Cathedral
The former Ken Saro-Wiwa bar has been completely transformed to create the new Sphinx Bar. Reclaimed wood provides function and decoration in this appealing contemporary space, that opens onto outside seating area
The bar is available to book for parties and will also serve food
The overhauled Mountford Hall – still Liverpool’s second largest live venue – benefits from £500,000 worth of new equipment. As well as hosting big name acts, it can be used by student societies
Clear, consistent signage will help new – and current – students find their way around the transformed facility
The Street joins University Walk with Mount Pleasant, providing pleasant seating and communal areas, as well as a coffee shop and bookable conference rooms
