The University of Liverpool’s Graduate to Merseyside service has hit another major milestone, placing its 500th graduate into employment.
Public relations and digital marketing company, the BIG Partnership, recruited Laurence Laidler, a University of Liverpool business studies graduate as a new account executive in its city centre office using the service.
The company also offered Aaron Hand, an English language graduate, a three-month internship.
Sharon Mars, managing director of The BIG Partnership in Liverpool, said: “Our business has grown considerably in the last few months making recruitment of high quality, ambitious employees a priority.
“The calibre of applicants we received through the Graduate to Merseyside service was fantastic. We set out to augment our senior team with one additional account executive and were so impressed that we subsequently decided to also offer Aaron an internship to further support his career development.”

Laurence said: “Securing work after university is a daunting task and I’m grateful for the support from Graduate to Merseyside. I feel really proud to have secured a role with one of the UK’s largest PR agencies.

Graduate to Merseyside, which is run by the University’s Careers and Employability Service and supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), provides a graduate recruitment service for businesses in a wide variety of sectors across Merseyside. It supports graduates from the local universities as well as those returning to the region by offering advice, job bulletins and help with CVs.
