Stasi officer marks anniversary of fall of Berlin Wall with Liverpool lecture

To mark the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, Stasi officer, Harald Jäger, who was instrumental in the historic events of 1989, will deliver a public lecture at the University of Liverpool.

He will be accompanied by writer and actor, Gerhard Haase-Hindenberg, author of The man who opened the Berlin Wall.

They will be at the University for the only UK date of their world tour marking the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November 1989.

The lecture is part of the University’s Security and Conflict public lecture series, with previous speakers including Maajid Nawaz, and Colonel Tim Collins,

The lecture, ‘Harald Jäger: the man who opened the Berlin Wall’, is free and will take place at 6pm, Thursday, 21 October, at the University’s Eleanor Rathbone Building.
