Will Self will read extracts from his book, Shark, and take part in a Q&A session
The novelist, journalist and broadcast personality, Will Self, will be in Liverpool to read extracts from his most recent book, Shark, and take part in a Q&A session led by Dr David Hering and Dr Will Slocombe from the University’s Department of English.
Author of eleven novels, as well as six collections of stories and five collections of non-fiction, Will Self’s fiction writing is known for being satirical, dark and surreal.
He currently writes a weekly column for the New Statesman and has written for the Guardian, the New York Times, and the Times. He is also regularly on British television and radio including Have I got News for You, Question Time and Radio 4.
Dr Sandeep Parmar, from the Department of English, said: “Both as a cultural commentator and as an author, Will Self has shaped our sense of the contemporary and of our place within it.
“We’re delighted to have him visit the Centre for New and International Writing and to be a part of the essential global dialogue at the heart of the University’s Miriam Allott Writers Series.”
Will Self will be `In Conversation’ from 4-6pm on Friday, 28 November in the Lutyens Crypt at the Metropolitan Cathedral.
