Poster Day 2015 winners

The winners of this year’s University of Liverpool Poster Day have been unveiled after 290 entries were judged by academics across the institution.

The annual event gives second year postgraduate research students the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider academic audience and gain feedback from peers and research professionals.

The top prize winners were:

The Guild Student award for the most innovative poster was awarded by Vice President of the Liverpool Guild of Students, Alex Ferguson to Stuart McEwen from the Institute of Integrative Biology. 

Professor Dinah Birch, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange, said: “The posters on display today reflect the ambition, diversity and creativity of our postgraduate researchers.  We are increasingly aware of the impact that our research can make, and this year’s posters demonstrate the huge potential of our postgraduate researchers to change the world for the better.” 

Poster Day also extends to the University’s postgraduate researchers across the world with Poster Day Online, which runs from 20 April – 9 May.

Event organiser and Head of PGR Development, Dr Richard Hinchcliffe, said: ‘The excellent quality of all the posters on exhibition is an indicator of the quality of research at the University. The variations between subject areas and the differences in approaches to communicating research to the public are a great fascination.”
