Our graduation week began with an honorary degree for Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Reverend Justin Welby.

Príncipe de Asturias Professor of Contemporary Spanish History at the London School of Economics, Paul Preston, met Vice-Chancellor Professor Janet Beer, ahead of his ceremony at the Philharmonic Hall, where he received a Doctor of Letters.

Husband and wife, Faez Awad and Nasreen Aflaifel, from Libya, both received their PhDs in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at the same ceremony.

President of the University Council, the Earl of Derby, greeted the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, at St Georges Hall, following the President’s honorary degree ceremony, where he was recognised for his contributions to Irish society.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Janet Beer addressed guests at the University’s graduation dinner, where she paid tribute to the achievements of our graduates and marked the 150th anniversary of the School of Dentistry with the showing of a film charting the School’s history.

Currently Presiding Judge of the North Eastern Circuit, Mr Justice Globe talked to students about his life and career at a ceremony where he was awarded a honorary degree of laws.

The University also saw its first cohort of students graduate from Liverpool’s campus in London. From left, Chaoyue Zheng, Shuang Zhon, and Fanli Shen graduated with a post-graduate degree in accountancy.

Our graduates are now part of a global Liverpool community that will support and advise our alumni throughout their careers. To keep in touch with the University, please visit our alumni webpages:
