In celebration of the opening of the University of Liverpool’s Institute in the Park and the new Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, a series of lunchtime lectures featuring experts from different fields has been launched.
The University, in partnership with Alder Hey NHS Foundation Trust, has enlisted experts from across the institution and from other organisations to talk about health and wellbeing across an 11-part winter lecture series.
All lectures will take place in the main Lecture Theatre, Institute in the Park (Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, Eaton Road, Liverpool L12 2AP) between 12.30pm and 1.15pm.

- Thursday, 7 January – Professor Craig Winstanley – “Personalised medicine for bacteria”
- Thursday, 14 January – Sir Professor Munir Pirmohamed – “Is the human genome too complex for personalised medicine?”
- Thursday, 21 January – Professor Tony Fisher – “Doctor…your PC is so much smarter than you!”
- Thursday, 28 January – Professor William Hope – “Dosing in children; how the cauliflower had its revenge”
- Thursday, 4 February – Professor Margaret Whitehead – “Is child health a political issue”
