public engagement

The University is launching a new Public Engagement with Research Forum to support staff and students in developing activity designed to build connections with the wider community.

Staff and postgraduate students are invited to the event, hosted by Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, Professor Dinah Birch, where a new public engagement with research funding scheme will also be announced.

The Forum will feature presentations from Head of Public Engagement with Research at Research Councils UK (RCUK), Dr Jenni Chambers, and Director of the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE), Professor Paul Manners.

Networking opportunities

Dr Chambers will give details of the RCUK’s view and support of public engagement, whilst Professor Manners will introduce the NCCPE and outline how it serves to support public engagement activities.

The event will provide an opportunity for colleagues to network with each other, share best practice and access advice and practical support.  Future forums will take place every semester.

The Public Engagement Forum will take place on Thursday 28th January, 2-3pm in the School of the Arts Library, Abercromby Square.

The event is open to all staff and PGR students but booking is required. To reserve a place, please visit: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/forum-on-public-engagement-tickets-20452336489?
