University experts to present to Parliamentary Water Group

University researchers, together with NGOs and industry experts will be presenting evidence to the joint All Party Parliamentary Water Group next month at a session focused on how to manage the water cycle more effectively.

The session, co-organised by the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology, gives Parliamentarians and the public an opportunity to hear from experts from the research community and other sectors.

Liverpool hon. research associate, Mike Norbury, who has recently completed a Knowledge Transfer Partnership between the University and Waterco Consultants will present information to attendees about the St Helens and Rivacre Brook Natural Flood Management initiatives that slow the flow by natural measures, increase wetlands and reduce water pollution.

Mike will be presenting alongside Dr David Brown, Senior Advisor in Flood Risk Management with the Environment Agency.

Professor David Shaw from the University’s School of Environmental Sciences, Liverpool University –will also be presenting to MPs and attendees at the session on mechanisms to deliver natural solutions.
