Vice-Chancellor makes pledge for Wellbeing Week

Vice-Chancellor Professor Janet Beer has made a pledge in support of the University’s Wellbeing Week.

Professor Beer has made a pledge to swim 1500m three times this week as part of a host of ‘wellbeing’ activities taking place across campus.  The ‘Make a Pledge’ scheme is just one of the initiatives taking this week to help staff and students improve their mental, physical and general wellbeing.

The ‘Make a Pledge’ sign-up board was stationed on University Square yesterday, where pledges included ‘giving up smoking’, ‘walk 10,000 steps every day’ and ‘don’t eat flapjacks’! Staff and students can make their pledge online here.

The first day of Wellbeing Week has seen staff and students fill the Wellbeing Week board with pledges.
