Over 5000 higher education professionals from all corners of the world are expected in Liverpool this week for the 28th European Association for International Education’s (EAIE) annual conference.

The University of Liverpool is a partner in the four-day event, which takes place from 13-16 September at Liverpool’s Arena and Convention Centre (ACC). This year’s programme includes 177 sessions, 4 plenaries, 5 campus tours, 21 workshops, 22 networking events and 32 poster sessions.

The University is involved in a range of events both on and off campus. Highlights include talks on Brexit, transnational education and student mobility to China, as well as a tour of the Campus. Vice-Chancellor, Professor Janet Beer and Deputy Vice Chancellor, Patrick Hackett are both speaking at the conference, and academic and professional services staff are involved in running a number of other sessions.

Speaking of the programme, Christine Bateman, Head of International Development, said: “We are delighted that the European Association for International Education has chosen Liverpool for its annual conference, not least because internationalisation underpins so much of what we do.

“We’re very proud to be part of such a prestigious conference that attracts so many of the world’s leading institutions who are passionate about advancing higher education globally and connecting cultures and nations.”
