The Liverpool Doctoral College (LDC) is hosting its fourth Postgraduate Researcher Week for postgraduate research students during 10-14 October, with a full schedule of activities available.
Postgraduate Researcher Week is the ideal opportunity for postgraduate research students to meet up with others from across campus and share their experiences, whilst learning more about the training and development opportunities available at the University.
Postgraduate Researcher Week is not just for first year students; sessions are available for all postgraduate research students at the University.
A variety of sessions will be running throughout the week including welcome talks from the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Janet Beer and the Director of the Liverpool Doctoral College, Professor Graham Kemp, alongside opportunities to find out what Liverpool Guild of Students has to offer. A live streaming service of the talks will also be available for off campus students – please register your interest by emailing ldc@liverpool.ac.uk.
Careers Day
A dedicated careers day will be held on Friday, 14 October which includes an interactive careers forum with post docs and Early Career Researchers from all three faculties, a look at the career trends of PhD students and an opportunity to learn how the Careers and Employability service can assist those applying for jobs.
Wellbeing and Diversity
Sessions include how to manage stress and the equality and diversity groups that are available as well as information about support for international students are scheduled throughout the week.
Development and Training
Postgraduate research students will also be invited to learn more about the Liverpool Elements system, placement opportunities and the Development Needs Anaylsis (DNA) during the week, with many more sessions on offer.
