Event: Schools Outreach Best Practice Workshop

Staff and postgraduate students are invited to a workshop that will showcase great practice in schools outreach activities from across the University.

The event aims to encourage the exchange of best practice and collaborations, and will also explore the wider issue of how outreach and public engagement can have greater impact.

There will be presentations showcasing outreach projects from each faculty as well as a spotlight on the activities of the University’s Widening Participation team.

Paul Sapple, Public Engagement with Research Manager, said: “ There are some fantastic outreach projects being undertaken by staff and students with schools both locally and wider afield.  This event is an opportunity to capture some of these activities, share good practice and experience and explore how they can contribute to the wider impact agenda.”

“The event provides an opportunity to meet colleagues from across the campus who are involved in outreach activities and the key points from the roundtable discussions will help inform the University strategy for public engagement.”

`Engaging with the Next Generation of Researchers – a cross faculty workshop exploring effective public engagement and outreach’ takes place on Wednesday, 14 December, 1.30 – 4.45pm in the G-Flex on the  ground floor of the Central Teaching Laboratories.  Light refreshments will be available.
