In the next lecture of the Science and Society series, Professor Kevin Sinclair of the University of Nottingham will share his expertise in Development Biology and the developments in genetic cloning since ‘Dolly the Sheep’ made the headlines in 1996.
Following in Dolly’s footsteps, there now stands a unique flock of cloned sheep, all derived from the same cell line as Dolly. The affectionately named ‘Nottingham Dollies’ are currently under the care of Professor Sinclair at the University of Nottingham.
Professor Sinclair’s lab investigates metabolic programming during early mammalian development, where epigenetic outcomes are determined in embryonic cells and tissues, and long-term developmental consequences assessed in offspring.
After the lecture there will be a Q&A Session, followed by an informal drinks and networking session.
