Vice-Chancellor joins Board of Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Janet Beer, has been appointed to the Board of the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to help drive forward the City Region’s economic growth over the next 3 years.

The LEP Board provides strategic insight and guidance to the Combined Authority on the economic challenges and opportunities facing the City Region and champions a partnership approach to realising its potential

Professor Beer said: “I am delighted to join the Board of the Liverpool Enterprise Partnership.  The University’s success is linked to the Liverpool City Region and we make a significant economic and social contribution through our students, staff and investment in infrastructure. I look forward to ensuring that the University continues to be at the heart of the Liverpool City Region and plays a major role supporting its future performance and prospects.”

On the appointments, Chair of the Liverpool City Region LEP, Asif Hamid MBE said: “I’m delighted to welcome our new members to the LEP Board. All seven new board members are leaders in their fields and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the LEP directly related to the LEP’s priorities. These appointments add to the outstanding Board members we already have in place and ensure we have an effective and diverse leadership that supports our continued work to drive economic growth. I look forward to working with them to deliver increased prosperity across the City Region.”
