The National Student Survey (NSS) is now open, giving final year undergraduate students the opportunity to share their views about their experience at University.
To say thank you for taking part, students who enter the survey will go into our draw to win one of 30 prizes including £200 Red Letter Days vouchers, graduations packages and bespoke careers support.
We’ll also give a £1 donation to charity for each student who enters the survey. This year the total raised will be split between the Liverpool Guild of Students’ four annual charities – Papyrus, Mencap Liverpool, Options for Supported Living, and The Whitechapel Centre.
The full prize list is:
- 21 x £200 Red Letter Days vouchers which can be used to buy experiences including a helicopter tour of London, or a two night glamping break
- A one month paid internship with the Careers and Employability Service within their marketing and communications team
- A one hour mentoring session with graduate recruiters at EY
- An intensive coaching afternoon with experts in the Careers and Employability team at the University
- An expenses paid trip to our London campus to attend the Kickstart Careers Day in the summer
- 5 x graduation packages including gown hire and photography (1 large 10”x8” and 2 small prints 5”x4”)
How do I take part?
Students who are eligible to take part will receive an invitation email which includes a link to enter the prize draw, before you are automatically redirected to the National Student Survey website to enter the survey. Please check your University email account.
The survey is an opportunity to share your opinions on what you like about the University, as well as things that you feel could be improved. It asks students to give their opinion on a number of areas including teaching quality, assessment and feedback on their work, academic support and learning resources. It is commissioned by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and administered by independent research agency Ipsos MORI.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education, Professor Gavin Brown, said: “The results of the NSS are extremely important to the University. Student feedback is crucial to our constant efforts to improve and provide the very best experience for all our students. We want to hear from as many students as possible so that we can focus on the things that will really make a difference. Make sure you have your say.”
Last year the Liverpool Guild of Students organised a preferendum in which students voted to boycott the NSS. This year, Liverpool Guild of Students will not be encouraging students to boycott the NSS, and believe it is up to each individual student to decide if they would like to take part.
Sean Turner, President of Liverpool Guild of Students, said: “The NSS is a hugely important channel for students to feed back their views to the University and to help guide improvements. We’d like all final year students to have the opportunity to complete the survey if they wish to take part.”
