Hacking Health Liverpool are hosting a weekend healthcare hackathon following the themes of prevention, rehabilitation and recovery.
The hackathon aims to bring together designers, engineers, entrepreneurs, sector professionals, service user groups and students to create and design solutions to real healthcare challenges.
Participants will spend two days developing and building their innovations at Sensor City, Liverpool on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 March 2018, followed by a pitching session to an expert judging panel at the Stanley Theatre in the Liverpool Guild of Students.

Naomi Mwasambili, PhD student and Director of Chanua Health which runs Hacking Health Liverpool, said: “Hacking Health is a global movement solving healthcare challenges by bringing together a wide range of stakeholders to develop person-centred solutions.
“Attending the Hackathon at Sensor City will allow participants to access state of the art software and equipment throughout the weekend, in order to help develop innovative prototype solutions to the proposed health care challenges.”
At the same event last year the winning team, My Time led by Lorna Brooks, developed an app specifically designed to support the children of prisoners. They went on to receive investment of £25,000 for their innovation.
Naomi Mwasambili added: “This year, we are delighted that our hackathon is being supported by a number of high profile organisations including Amazon Web Service (AWS), The Innovation Agency, Merseycare NHS Trust, Sensor City, Chanua Health and Red Ninja who are sponsoring the event.
“Participants who create the winning solutions can expect to receive prizes ranging from AWS Credits, three months free office space at Sensor City, 12 hours of support from Red Ninja, links with relevant NHS Trusts, Amazon goodies and access to EDRF funded business support.”
