The question of how far artificial intelligence is promoting bias and prejudice in our everyday lives will be debated in a panel event at the Victoria Gallery and Museum.
Part of the University’s ‘Open House’ series of events, the debate will examine the extent to which biased algorithms are being used to predict and alter our behaviour and influence our lives.
Whether it’s social media, search engines or Siri, artificial intelligence plays a central part in everyday life but do these advances in technology come at a cost? The panel will debate whether artificial intelligence is inadvertently promoting bias and prejudice in our increasingly digital world and the impact that artificial intelligence algorithms are already having on our society.
Join a panel of experts including Liverpool Girl Geeks, LivWise and academic researchers from across the University to explore this increasingly important issue.
