The University and Liverpool Law School are saddened to learn of the passing of Professor Peter Rowe who was Head of Department at what was then the Faculty of Law, at the University from 1988-93.
Professor Rowe was the founding Director of the Cayman Islands Law School (now Truman Bodden Law School) in 1982-84, following which he returned to his permanent posting at the University of Liverpool. Following his return to the University, Peter was instrumental in establishing the long-standing affiliation with the University of Liverpool whose undergraduate and postgraduate degrees continue to be offered through Truman Bodden Law School.
An international expert in the Laws of War, he ran highly successful courses at Liverpool for high ranking legal officers of the British Army and the Royal Air Force. Later he taught at University of Lancaster, where he was Emeritus Professor at the time of his death.
