Major communications professionals deliver open talks as part of London MSc Strategic Communication

High profile public and private sector communications professionals will deliver public seminars at the University of Liverpool’s London campus, as part of the MSc Strategic Communication programme.

With diverse specialisms, each of the speakers will give an insight into the practice of strategic communication. This series of five talks is part of a larger module in which the students will meet many other communication experts from different sectors.

The programme opens on Monday December 10 with Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Manager David Vazquez from Go-Ahead Group plc who will be speaking about communicating sustainability within environmental, social and governance reporting.

The second talk is by Ally Owen, University of Liverpool graduate and Founder of digital agency Hoxton United and Brixton Finishing School for Digital Talent. Ally will be speaking about digital strategic communication case studies on 12 December.

Sereena Abbassi from Saatchi London will be speaking on February 8 about using postcolonial theory as a tool to unpack the lack of inclusivity within the advertising industry.

Ambassador of Switzerland to the UK, Alexandre Fasel, will then speak on 18 February on the role of communications in foreign policy and domestic politics in the case of Switzerland.

On March 1, Sheryl Marjoram from major advertising agency McCann London will be speaking about ‘The lone genius vs the crowd: valuing work on merit in advertising.’

All of the above events are free and open to all University of Liverpool staff and students as well as members of the public.
