Our Spring Careers Fair takes place this week on Wednesday, 6 March.
The event will be full of employers who are looking to recruit students just like you. There are opportunities in different employment sectors and vacancies for students from all degree subjects.
Here are our top 3 tips to help you make the most of the fair:
- Think outside the box – Around 75% of graduate roles are open to any degree discipline. Don’t feel that you can only search for jobs that fall within your own specialism. Where else will your skills and qualities be valued?
- Network, Network, Network – Have a few generic questions in mind that you want to ask employers like ‘What does the application process consist of?’ Create a good impression! Don’t just ask for freebies and leave, always have a conversation first.
- Make Notes and follow up – You’ll be taking in a lot of information and it will be hard to remember it all. Recording names, graduate scheme details, and contacts will help. If you come across an employer you’re interested in, make sure to keep in contact with them. A simple message thanking them for their time can go a long way.
