Huge congratulations to our Careers and Employability team who won a National Undergraduate Employability Award last week.
Not only did the team win the Most Improved Commitment award, they were also shortlisted for the Best Placement Service award.
Judges commended the team for their student-first approach and were impressed with our Career Coach initiative. Since joining the team in September, our student coaches have helped to double the interactions between students and the Career Studio.
Judges also highlighted the team’s dedication to work experience and to the fact that 1,400 more students are now able to undertake work experience as part of their degree compared to students in 2016/17.

The service’s employer events – which run throughout the year across campus – were another factor in the team’s success at the awards evening. Since 2016, attendance at our employer events has increased by 75%.
Speaking about the award, Director of Student Experience and Enhancement Dr Paul Redmond, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for our team and recognition of how the direction we’re taking at Liverpool to employability is leading the way in the sector.
“Not only is the University number one in the Russell Group for graduate employment, we’re also putting together the most exciting and innovative careers service.“
Emma Moore, Director of Careers and Employability, commented: “I am absolutely thrilled that we have won this award. The Careers and Employability team and colleagues from across the University have worked so hard this year, completely re-imagining what employability looks like for our students. I am excited by what we have achieved so far and this external recognition validates all of our hard work.”
Careers Fair – Today
Our Spring Careers Fair is taking place today from 10.30am in the Guild.
The event is a chance for students to meet employers who are looking to recruit for their graduate roles that are starting in 2019. There will be vacancies for students from all degree subjects.
We’ve also invited a number of universities to the event to talk about studying for a master’s and beyond.
Visit CareerHub to find out more about the Fair and to register for the event.
