Two University of Liverpool students recently received Duke of York Young Entrepreneur Awards in recognition of their remarkable entrepreneurship whilst at university.

Final year medical students Edward Lynch and Tobias Fox joined 28 other student entrepreneurs on 8 July to be presented with their award by HRH The Duke of York.

The awards, organised and presented annually at the University of Huddersfield, aim to celebrate students or graduates who have created a business or social enterprise that demonstrates sustainable commercial or social impact with the potential for growth.

The pair were nominated by the University of Liverpool’s Careers & Employability Service after starting their business Sophron and taking part in this year’s ‘Emerge’ enterprise mentorship programme.

The Sophron team began their journey by delivering talks to schools around Liverpool in order to improve mental health outcomes through an action-led, prevention-focused approach.

Sophron’s programmes are informed by current medical research and provides individuals with accurate and relevant information.

They have also developed LifeLink, soon to be available in web and app based platforms, to incentivise and motivate people to engage with activities that actively improve their health in all 3 ‘main domains’– biological, psychological and social health.

Sophron’s mission is to revolutionise the way individuals view and monitor their ‘complete health’ by emphasising the importance of a holistic approach in maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

Tobias and Edward have done exceptionally well to receive this award and we wish them the best of luck in the future with Sophron.
