5 very useful tools every student should know about

There are lots of tools and apps available at the University that will help you to navigate through your studies and around campus. Here are our top five picks:

1. PC Finder app

Finding an available computer on campus has never been easier! Download the PC Finder app to find out how many computers are available and where to find them across campus. You can also use the app to filter for specific equipment, such as a scanner, or adjoining desks so you can work next to a friend.

2. Timetables app

The Timetables app allows students to view personalised timetables, complete with campus maps. Features include a daily “busyness” indicator, lecture reminders, alerts for clashes and push notifications in the event of emergency room changes.

5. Pass the Book

Finished with a book or need a new one for next semester? Pass the Book is a service designed for students at the University to buy, sell or donate their textbooks to other students. All you need to do is register with the site and you can get started. Books can be deposited at, or collected from, the library and all payments are made through PayPal so there’s no need to share contact details or payment details.
