Staff are invited to attend a masterclass led by HGF, global intellectual property rights specialists, to help you understand the complexities of IP and what this means for your research on Tuesday, 1 October 2019, 12pm – 2pm, in the Life Science Accelerator Building.
This session is the first in a series of events organised by the IP teams at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) and the University of Liverpool, working alongside the Centre of Excellence in Infectious Diseases Research (CEIDR).
This session will help participants to:
- Understand the different types of IP
- Understand the importance of IP in society, and specifically in the research context
- Avoid some common IP pitfalls
- Identify the best route to protecting IP
- Understand the patent process and freedom-to-operate
The event will also help staff to:
- Identify the IP you create
- Recognise when and how to seek professional help from the teams at LSTM and the University
