Following the closure of the University’s library buildings last month, staff have been working hard to enhance the services and resources available online to continue to support all your learning and research needs.
Access resources online
The University’s extensive online collections remain fully available and can easily be accessed via the library website.
We have been working closely with publishers and colleagues across the sector to provide temporary access to a wide range of online resources, in addition to the existing 900,000 e-books in the catalogue.
We are also supporting requests for additional digital resources via our Get It For Me service.
Study Skills – KnowHow and Writing@Liverpool
Our popular Writing@Liverpool and KnowHow study skills programmes are now being fully delivered online.
Upcoming online KnowHow workshops will help students adjust to working remotely and prepare for upcoming assessments, while our Writing@Liverpool tutors are available for one-to-one appointments to help boost your academic writing skills.
As always, there are online tutorials available 24/7 through the VITAL module KnowHow: Academic Success. These include topics such as, writing your dissertation, working with statistics, managing your time effectively and finding information for your assignments.
Students can also join webinars on a variety of topics and a new online KnowHow Study Group on Microsoft Teams to share tips and get support from library staff and peers. Information about joining the Group will be available in VITAL.
Keep an eye out for more online provision over the coming weeks to help you adapt to your new way of working.
Subject support
As ever, specialist subject support is available from the liaison librarian for your subject. Contact them for help finding and accessing the resources you need; advice on referencing and online support for your learning.
The team will also be working closely with your tutors to support teaching and research in your area.
User support and the library community – here for you 24/7
The Library has recently joined an online global community of librarians offering support and advice to users of academic libraries 24/7. This has enhanced our ability to answer your queries at any time of day and night; you can access help via the chat button on our website.
