Honorary Degrees to recognise contribution to tackling Coronavirus

Amidst the bad news surrounding COVID-19, there are stories of exceptional good citizenship, tireless professionalism, outstanding research, and communities working together to support each other.

The University is keen to recognise these everyday heroics, and has extended the deadline for submitting Honorary Degree nominations to Thursday 30 April so that you can put forward individuals who have supported the University, the city region and further afield in dealing with the impact of COVID-19.

The criteria against which nominations will be considered this year have also been updated to take this new category into account.

So when making your nominations, please highlight:

All nominations should be submitted in strict confidence and not be divulged to the person nominated.

If you have already submitted nominations, these will still be considered by the Joint Committee on Honorary Degrees, which then makes recommendations to the Senate and the Council. Feedback will be provided to all nominators later this summer.

2020 Alumni Awards

The University is keen to recognise the outstanding contributions that our alumni make in their chosen fields and to society more generally. If you know of alumni who deserve such recognition from their alma mater, then why not nominate them for a 2020 Alumni Award. You can find full details on the eligibility criteria plus the online nomination form on the Alumni website: https://alumni.liv.ac.uk/meet-our-alumni/alumni-awards/
