Just over six months ago, the Academy launched a new Leadership Commitment Framework with one of the four pillars focusing on the importance of ‘Inclusive Leadership’. The events of the past month and the move to largescale remote working have disrupted our established routines presenting new challenges for staff with pre-existing mental health conditions, those with caring responsibilities and potentially impacting on our mental wellbeing.
With this in mind, the Equality and Engagement Team within the Academy is pleased to launch a suite of new materials, Team Wellbeing for Managers, specifically designed to support leaders at every level with different aspects of managing and supporting staff whilst working remotely. The materials provide practical information, hints and tips relating to a range of remote working related issues including:
- Staying in touch with your team
- Disability and Reasonable Adjustments
- Flexible working and family friendly considerations
- Harassment and bullying
- Supporting mental wellbeing
The materials include a suite of factsheets, on-line presentations and vlogs from members of our own Senior Leadership Team. Keith Watkinson, Director of HR said “Supporting our leaders and managers to demonstrate inclusive leadership in a practical way has never been so important and we are delighted to be able to launch these resources which are designed to support our leaders with this vital aspect of their role.”
The new materials complement existing resources for staff which include e-learning modules relating to resilience, personal agility, self-help and self-coaching modules. Existing materials can continue to be found via the table of resources available on the Academy web-pages and additional support including links to the Employee Assistance Programme can be found via the Wellbeing hub.
