The University is scheduled to receive QR GCRF funding by Research England to be spent on research activity as part of the ODA Research Seed Fund. Researchers are invited to apply for funding to a maximum of £10,000 for research that addresses the challenges of economic development and well-being faced by developing countries as listed on the OECD DAC list of eligible countries.
The deadline for applications is 4pm, Monday, 20 July 2020. Postdoctoral researchers can apply only as a named post-doc on a PI’s application. Activity must be completed by 31st July 2021.
Funding can be used for:
- Building networks and developing relationships and collaborations with international and UK-based partners. This could be via holding workshops, enabling visits of academics/post-docs/PhD students or other activities designed to develop ODA projects with international collaborators.
- Trialing ideas, developing research concepts, proof-of-concept projects to produce pilot data.
- Scaling-up existing or already planned activities and projects.
- Consolidating existing activity previously funded by the ODA Research Seed Fund to maximise impact for developing countries. Please get in contact to discuss with us if your project is building on a previous ODA Research Seed Fund project.
Informal enquiries can be made to globalchallenges@liverpool.ac.uk.
