Join broadcaster and former BBC Radio Merseyside legend Roger Phillips and Beatles expert and Dr Holly Tessler from the University of Liverpool’s Music Department for a specially commissioned online event celebrating what would have been the 80th birthday of John Lennon.
Roger and Holly will discuss John’s unique talent as a musician, artist and songwriter alongside his relationship with Yoko Ono Lennon and with Liverpool which features prominently in his work. They will also consider the ongoing legacy that Yoko Ono Lennon and The Beatles have with the city of Liverpool.
The event is the first in a series of events celebrating The Beatles and Yoko Ono Lennon ahead of the highly anticipated opening of the University of Liverpool’s state-of-the art Yoko Ono Lennon Centre in late 2021 and the launch of the MA in The Beatles, Music Industry and Heritage in Autumn 2021.
The Art of John and Yoko takes place on Friday 9 October, 1-2pm (BST) and will be streamed live via Zoom.
The event is free to attend and there will be an opportunity for guests to ask the questions during the discussion. To book your place, click on the link or paste the text into your web browser: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-art-of-john-and-yoko-tickets-124067058913
