If you have a fantastic idea for a new business you can now apply to our Enterprise Fund competition for the chance to receive up to £500 to kick-start your venture.
The Enterprise Fund, delivered in partnership with Santander Universities, is open to all students and recent graduates* who have the passion, drive, and commitment to make their idea a reality. You can enter as an individual, or as part of a group.
The most promising applications will be invited to pitch their idea virtually, after which successful students will be awarded funding and receive feedback on their business idea.
Last year, six projects were supported by the Enterprise Fund, including PhD student Omar Elsayed’s card game Welcome Rookie. The team-based game supports the learning of medical students by embedding the theories of medical ethics into engaging stories. The funding received helped Omar to cover the costs of developing a companion augmented reality app, and to participate in the European Conference on Games Based Learning, where he achieved second place.
Omar said: “Take the scheme seriously, it can be a game changer for you, too”.
Funding was also awarded last year to Hannah Arhinful’s online shop for modern wall art and interior design; Harry Spence’s Electric Bike project; Moisés Barberá Ramos towards his Surgical Drill business; Rebekah Penrice-Randal, Lucia Livoti and Charlotte Blake to support The Science Social; and to Sam Berson to support the recording and release of his EP, Higher Tide.
To find out more and apply visit our Enterprise Fund webpages. Applications close on Friday 20 November.
*Graduates who apply must have graduated in the past year to be eligible to receive the grant.
