The People’s Powerhouse is a movement that exists to shape the debate around the Northern Powerhouse, and to ensure that people and communities are at the heart of the Powerhouse plans, not the periphery.
The movement formed in response to the lack of diverse opinions and experiences represented in the Northern Powerhouse plans. The aim is to include the thoughts and opinions, as well as knowledge and expertise from all sectors of society, with a particular focus on how people are the key to meaningful development.
Collaborate. Debate. Network. Share. Inspire!
This year’s People’s Powerhouse Convention is taking place on 24 and 25 November. The two-day event is packed full of interesting talks and group discussions – and it’s entirely online and completely FREE.
Taking part in this event will ensure that you are central to the conversations around social, economic and racial justice in the North. At a critical time for the North, join this event to discuss the rapidly changing issues we face.
This year’s event will also include a new session with the Northern Mayors, who have agreed to take part in both a listening and speaking capacity. There is an opportunity to participate in a discussion with Steve Rotherham, the Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor.
How do I get involved?
- Book your free ticket now and tell everyone you know about the event! It’s an event for anyone, and there is no limit to the number of attendees.
- Check out the website for information on the programme, as well @peoplespowerhse on twitter the latest speaker announcements and event news.
- Take part in the Liverpool session by talking about what you’re seeing and hearing in your area. Share your achievements and challenges with Mayor Steve Rotherham. Please email stephanie@peoplespowerhouse.org.uk and she’ll guide you through how to propose your speaking slot.
- Make it a positive, inspiring session but don’t holding back from the truth or harsh reality of what you see in the local area, especially since March and looking ahead.
The People’s Powerhouse have started to change the discussions about what kind of North we want to be, but the more of us who get involved, the more we will achieve!
